Trigger Point Injections

Release the knot, release the pain.

/

Quick relief for painful muscle knots using local anesthetic or saline to relax tense muscle fibers.

What it is

Trigger Point Injections

A trigger point is a tight, irritable band inside a muscle that refuses to let go. It can be tender to touch, refer pain to other areas, and keep an entire region — neck, shoulders, upper back — locked in tension. A trigger point injection interrupts that cycle directly at the knot.

  • A thin needle is placed into the taut band of muscle and a small amount of local anesthetic (or saline) is injected.
  • The needle itself helps disrupt the contracted fibers while the anesthetic reduces local pain signaling.
  • Several trigger points can often be treated in one short visit.
  • Relief is frequently noticed quickly, sometimes during the visit itself.

Who it helps

This may be right for you if

01

You have tender, rope-like knots in your neck, shoulders, or back.

02

Pressing on one spot reproduces pain that spreads elsewhere.

03

Tension headaches follow neck and shoulder tightness.

04

Desk work, driving, or an old injury keeps the same muscles locked up.

05

Massage and stretching help only briefly.

What to expect

Your visit, step by step.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We palpate the muscle to locate the exact trigger points reproducing your pain.

  2. 02

    Preparation

The skin over each point is cleaned and prepared.

  3. 03

    Injection

Each trigger point is injected in turn; the process takes only minutes.

  4. 04

    Aftercare

Mild soreness for a day is common. Gentle stretching and heat help lock in the release.
